New dolls have their first coat of varnish!

A big hello to everyone this weekend. I have been up to my ears in crafty goodness so far... so thought I would share some progress piccies to keep you entertained! hehe In the above pictures, you can see my very cluttered desk with all the newbies having their first coat of varnish. Makes it very difficult to use the computer at the same time let me tell you!
I have also done a new little keyring which I'm very excited to be selling soon! And I have now finished the designs on the two new dolls sets - I'm going to be choosing their names tonight and doing their second coat of varnish so they will be all complete!
'Til next time folks! xx

New little "Sweet" canvas!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you're all looking forward to the weekend.

The other day I bought some really cute little tiny canvas's (only 10cm x 10cm!) and last night I got my paints out, did some thinking, penciled on some type and began adding colours! :) I like the size of these canvas's - it's looking super cute on my desk right now. Am thinking of selling these in The Bloomery gift store at KILN Gallery as I have a few more ideas up my sleeve... Fun, fun!

...Work in progress

Hello everyone! I am feeling very inspired today! Even though I have a bad headache and a sore throat... I am still trying to ignore that while I let myself be inspired by everything Nushka! On the weekend, I went along to the first Brisbane Brown Owls meet where we got together with a bunch of other crafty ladies to eat cupcakes and sew felt owls! What could be better?! I left the meeting feeling nicely inspired to do my own stuff....
So I have decided to put up a little sneak peak of the dolls I am currently working on. The opening night at KILN Gallery is on Fri 6th March - which is only NEXT FRIDAY! So I have been very busy these last few weeks preparing everything for the day. The pictures above are of a new (and very different) doll set that will be in the store. I really wanted to do a more creatively 'random' design so have been playing around with some new shapes and new colours.

I have also painted a new 'Nikkita' set (above) so I will have some of the current dolls in the store too. They are all sold out at the moment, so I'm keen to paint as many as I possibly can in the time frame! This Nikkita set is almost complete - I just have to draw the eyes and mouth on and she'll be all done!

And the third set I have been working on is still at very early stages... But I have designed a new fringe for them! Similar to ones I have done before, but it has a little cute wisp at the front! Cute! I'm also considering leaving some of this doll in wood as I think it will look really gorgeous ones it's all varnished. Have to get my creative cap on now though and choose a design for it!

Dolls soon to be sold in a Gallery gift store!

Some exciting news today!
Last week, I was approached by KILN gallery in Paddington, Brisbane to exhibit my Nushka Dolls and some other crafty things. There is going to be an opening night on March 6, so if you're free come along and take a look! There are lots of lovely things in the gift store like funky purses and badges, or great little canvas paintings, hand-made toys and jewellery and heaps of other cool stuff. I am so excited to have my Nushka's in there too as there are not many places in Brisbane focussing on hand-made good.
So I am busy busy BUSY painting and getting everything ready to show. I can't wait!
xx
